The County Assessor is an elected official who may serve unlimited 4 year terms. The primary duties of the Assessor
are to certify assessed values to the Auditor, serve as secretary of the county Property Tax Board of Appeals, and
equalize assessments.
The assessment date for Business Tangible Personal Property is JANUARY 1 of each year. Anyone owning, holding, possessing
or controlling business personal property in Indiana on this date, must either file the appropriate forms in person with
their County Assessor or have forms post marked by MAY 15.
